An old Swedish midsummer tradition is that if a girl picks 7 kinds of flowers (she has to be silent the entire time) and puts them under her pillow while she sleeps she will dream about the man she's going to marry.

That's why I have a photo of a miniature midsummer pole as my theme thursday photo. The theme is dreams

A midsummer pole usually is made out of a tree and is decorated with leaves and flowers so it's not white as the one on the photo. Midsummer is one of Sweden's biggest holidays and just like christmas we have a lot of traditions that goes hand in hand with it, such as the food and the dancing around the midsummer pole. I'm pretty sure a lot of tourists think we are a bit weird. ;o)More information can be found here.
